A spinning 16-bit wheel

Vessel. Anchor. Conduit.

Description

You did not choose this life.

It is your burden to see the evil. To feel it. To taste it, rotten, on your tongue.

It is dangerous—and it is always coming closer.

This battle would have no other ending: It would see you another warrior, never to return home. And "home" will not await your return for much longer.

It would have you defined only by your duty, to which you would give your life. It would have you, the necessary sacrifice.

It would have your tale as written.

But it is still your tale.

Updates, Progress and Thoughts

  • (25/01/2026)I AM STILL WORKING ON THIS!

For the past months, I got awfully stuck and was only writing periodically... But the new year has inspired me and got me to realise that I honestly don't think I could finish writing this if it went on for another year. So the current goal is then to aim to finish writing by 2027, even if it ends up shorter than originally planned.

Currently, I am sitting on a couple chapters of Acts 2 and 3, and the outline for 70% of the rest. Unfortunately though, I am still struggling with a pretty important branch of the story, so I'm going to get a friend to come in and give me some ideas. I find come up with better ideas when I bounce off someone else.

I also want to change some of my set up for writing and updating this game, including moving off of Itch to here. That should make it much easier to update the game, and make it easier to write outside of the code editor and then move it to here. Plus, in making this website, I'm realising how inefficiently I might have originally ran things. This is what I'm currently working on with the most focus.

I can't promise how long it'll take until another update, or how big it'll be, but know this hasn't been abandoned.

I'm considering adding a walkthrough or choice map. Let me know if you'd be interested!
